Acme is a leader in the library binding and trade edition binding fields and assumed much of the imaging business that was formerly BookLab's.
Setup and design workflow for Acme's imaging department and train staff on the required hardware and software
Develop prototypes and create production methodologies for new and challenging projects from Austin-based office; oversee handoff and completion by Charlestown team
Complete selected specialized projects in Austin
Conduct hardware and software research and testing to continually improve imaging methodologies used in Charlestown
Co-develop imaging workflow systems in collaboration with Elan-GMK, a California technology company
Also with Elan-GMK, conduct on-site installation and training of imaging systems and assist with the production of client-focused technical documentation
Work closely with clients to develop new product concepts and cost-effective production techniques, thus increasing Acme's service offerings and client base
Conceptualized, designed, and continue to develop acmebook.com which has helped position Acme as an active, dynamic player in the library, book arts, and publishing arenas

BookLab (and its precursor Jensen Bindery) was a widely acclaimed and successful company that grew to annual revenues exceeding $1.2M and 25-30 employees. The company provided photocopy and later digital facsimiles of brittle library books, fine limited edition book binding and custom box making and archival housing construction services to libraries, museums and small press publishers world wide. Noteworthy projects include the Ellesmere Chaucer facsimile edition binding for Yushodo Publishing and the Huntington Library, digital imaging and facsimile printing of the States Codes Project for Georgetown Law Library, and numerous edition binding projects for W.
