Original BookNotes
The BookNote series of essays were published by BookLab, Inc. between 1988 and 1998. Conceived and born in the milieu that was uniquely BookLab and largely written by Gary Frost, master craftsman and partner, BookNotes were wildly popular. They originally came out in pamphlet form, self-published at BookLab, using Macintosh computers and early laser printers, then reproduced on photocopiers. The common thread through all the different titles was books, libraries and preservation.
Adoption of the Codex Book, by Gary Frost.
Three Bookbindings, by Gary Frost. (This BookNote is now hosted on the bookways.com server at the BookLab II website.)
Transfer Tape Binding, by Gary Frost.
Conservation Binding Ideas, by Gary Frost.
A Short History of Hand Bookbinding, by Gary Frost.
